SJ-R.COM - Few takers for job buyout: "A job-buyout program for state government employees is falling far short of its goal of luring 3,000 into giving up their positions.
With the deadline to participate one week away, just 418 employees have signed up for the alternative retirement cancellation payment plan. Employees could sign up beginning Aug. 16.
When the General Assembly approved the job-cutting program, representatives of Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration said it would be limited to the first 3,000 qualified applicants. They insisted Wednesday that the initiative is not a failure."

-- Because nothing pushed by Blagozo is a failure, no matter what really happens. Remember the failure of theplan to mortgage the Thompson Center wasn't his fault and he was just trying to save you money, your kids however were screwed.
