Some South Suburban Politics from the Sneedster:

"Sneed hears former Cook County Board of Review commissioner Bob Shaw is plotting to run for mayor of South Holland.
*To wit: Shaw, who lost his seat by a close margin in the March primary to Larry Rogers Jr., a candidate backed by U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., moved to South Holland after he lost his 9th Ward aldermanic seat to another Jackson-endorsed candidate, Anthony Beale, in 1999.
*Word is Shaw will run in the April 2005 race against incumbent Don DeGraff in the demographically changing south suburban village.
*The big question: Will Shaw archrival Jesse Jr. back the conservative Republican DeGraff?"

-- I grew up near South Holland (Dolton) the idea of the Shaw brothers being Mayors of both Dolton and South Holland is scarry.
