This via capfax via ABC7 on the Cook County Democratic Sheriff Slating.
"I served as alderman for 16 years in this city of Chicago and didn't get indicted," said Robert Shaw, (D) Candidate for Sheriff.

Now that is a fairly low standard. No indictments so therefore I must be ok... It will be interesting to see if any of these guys go after him in the primary.

I guess what the going rate for a congressman is (at least 2.4 Million). This is so not what the Republicans needed right now. Suffice to say I hope he spends some real time in prison for this.

Just freakin sad.

The Trib yesterday had a story about Governor Blagojevich's outreach programs. It contained this little quote

State documents show that several state agencies supplied the governor's office with spreadsheet "outreach tracking forms" to show to whom these "Dear Friend" letters were distributed and whether it was by mail, e-mail or in person.

In July, the Department of Human Services distributed 61,000 copies of 11 various "Dear Friend" letters to "contract providers/clients," according to the tracking forms. Another 4,500 letters involving various health initiatives were mailed to "all rehab services offices, providers, [and] advocacy groups" by the agency.

I wonder if this list of e-mails and addresses is shared with the Citizens for Blagojevich? How about any reponses the administration gets.

Now that we are charging truckers and folks with out transponders more to use the toll-roads could they at least have all of the lanes open for the eastbound side of the York toll plaza.

Also they seem to do truck inspections with a mobile weigh station about twice a week now which ties up traffic and takes up a lane just past the plaza making getting over to the right even more of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Seriously, someone in this administration must hate truckers.

From MSNBC

Rep. Jean Schmidt flung the word "coward" at a decorated war veteran from Pennsylvania last week, but the Ohio Republican's comments landed with a splat in her own Cincinnati district, where some supporters are backing away as she scrambles to explain what she meant.

Judging by her words yesterday -- the first after avoiding the public for three days -- Schmidt doesn't understand what the fuss is about, and sees herself more as victim than villain. "I am amazed at what a national story this has become," she said in a statement. "I have been attacked very personally, continuously since Friday evening."

Doesn't understand what the fuss is about? Seriously, is she kidding. You call out a Marine on the floor of the US Hose of Representatives and you don't understand what the fuss is about? Get a freakin clue.

The phone number, name and firm name seemed to check out, suffice to say I suspect they are not looking for 36 year old heavy set suburban guys.

The subject on the e-mail was Calvin Klein Casting

I would put even money at this point on Edwin Eisendrath running for Gov. It sure sounds like Carol Marin wants him to as well.

Here is a question if Eisendrath spending $30 million (I doubt he would) to try and beat Blagojevich a good idea? Will it work is there is not some sort of surprise from the feds for the Blagojevich administration between now and the primary?

Sorry someone added comment spam on this one so I have to turn off comments for now.

The News-Gazette has an interesting bit on the All-Kids press release.

Basically that it was longer than the actually bill.

I also read someplace that they general assembly spent more time praising the White Sox than debating all kids.

How to defeat Rod Blagojevich or how the Republicans can win back the governors office. The first in an intermittent series.

There are a whole set of 'special interests' that have seen their lots go down hill during the current administration.

Key #1 Truckers and the trucking industry.

From increases in registration fees and taxes, the increase of tolls for truck on the Illinois Tollway and the veto of the increase in the truck speed limit truckers have not faired well under this governor. Also how the state has avoided providing any sort of tax relief on fuel taxes.

Don't think truckers and the trucking industry can have an influence, just ask Pat Welsh. They have organizations, trade magazines etc that can all be used for targeted marketing (heck XM radio even has a channel focused on truckers)

By using targeted mailings to owner-operators as well as buying ad space where available at truck stops and billboards you will be able to reach truckers and their families and point out how this administration has been incentive to their needs. How this administration has been financially detrimental to them and their families.

Like I said more to come.

Is the leader down for good or just having a moment. Who knows, if it goes down do I then become the leading Republican internet voice in Illinois? No, I doubt it but the extra hits from people searching Republican Internet Voice Illionis would be nice.

John Fritchey is reporting that G-Nad will have a primary oponent, Edwin Eisendrath. For what it is worth it appears someone registered www.Eisendrath2006.com a couple of days ago.

A picture comes out showing your Father-In-Law with someone who is running to replace you...
Do you
A) Laugh and say they are both public figures and odds are they ran into each other at a function, it doesn't mean they are pals or he want's to see her win. Heck he is a Chicago Alderman, he has had lots of pictures taken with lots of people. Big deal.

B) Issue a classic 'no comment' and make it a story.

The Washington Post (via MSNBC) has a story about how schools are moving away from Friday Night football games due to security issues.

Heck my high school did that back in the 80's and then restarted playing night games in the later 80's with more security that you could shake a stick at. It's interesting to compare how they let the crowds interact here in Auroraville (Aurora that looks like Naperville) at a Friday night football game vs. where I grew up. They still play football on Friday night here whereas in 4 years of high school I think we played a total of three night games at home (tops) and they would keep the fans from each side separated by snow fence.

Here the fans go all over the place and most of the fans under about 23 are blissfuly unaware that a football game is going on.

As the Beacon and others are reporting Oberweis questioned about immigrant workers. It will be interesting to watch the response on this by his campaign. It's not like this should be a big surprise to him and his people that at some point someone was going to come after him on this. The dairy operation is a big company and the odds are there might be someone will immigration issues working there.

The organization that helped filed the complaint as some information about it here.

The article mentions a written statement from the campaign that I can't seem to find. They need to come up with a better response than 'smear campaign' (it sound whiney). They also fail to address the real issue with the complaint for a lot of people, not the immigration status, but the wage issue.

People can understand that you hired a company to clean the stores and they hired undocumented workers. The issue with some people is going to be that they didn't even make minimum wage.

John Stewart has John McCain on right now.

John Stewart pointed out the VP has to have 'ba---s' to bring up the use of torture to John McCain.
From Today's Sun Times

When it comes to getting work in state government, it's good to know state Rep. Dan Reitz (D-Steeleville).

After Gov. Blagojevich took office, Reitz's wife, Joyce, got a $32,556-a-year job with the state parks system overseeing concessionaires such as food vendors and bait shops.

The Blagojevich administration hired Reitz's son Nick to be a $39,996-a-year "public administration intern" who lobbies for the state agriculture department.

And the husband of Reitz's office secretary, Peter Geppert, was hired to become superintendent of a state park in his district -- a job that pays $47,496.

Remember kids, not the business as usual governor also I realyy doubt the Sun Times is done.

These are going to make great campaign ads.

So it looks like Judy is in, I heard responses from Oberwies and Profit (for Steve R). I still think trying to get to the right of Judy is going to be a crowded neighborhood without enough votes to win the primary between Steve, Jim and Brady.

So who will go negative against Judy in the primary first? My money, Oberweis.

Yeah don't talk about it anymore, that's the way to make the story go away....
Federal subpoenas may continue showing up at Gov. Rod Blagojevich's office, but he won't continue talking about it.
After the latest one - seeking personnel records at the Corrections Department - the governor's office said Thursday it will no longer publicly comment when it receives a subpoena.
Spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff said future questions about subpoenas will be referred to the U.S. attorney's office. She would not comment further.
Because if you stop talking about it, the problem goes away. Who is giving these guys press advice at this point. Trust me, you don't want guys like me defining the story.

Is it posible for Sneed to mention Judy without tossing in a reference to her ethinicity....
Judy. Judy. Judy . . .
The name game: Now comes word State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, who is of Czech descent, has a last name that means "garlic bread." And she tells Sneed White Sox star Scott Podsednik's name means "sidewalk layer" in Czech.
Aren't you glad you read this column?

So here are some odds on various departments getting subpoenas in the next month

Lottery -- Even
DNR -- 2/3
Fire Marshal -- 1/5
Gaming Board -- 1/5
Racing Board -- 1/10

More to come
The hits keep coming.
The governor's office confirmed that it received a subpoena seeking Department of Corrections hiring records for Blagojevich's first 34 months in office and the final nine months of former Gov. George Ryan's administration.

So one of two things is happening here kids, either they are really finding stuff within the Blagojevich administration or they are really fishing. I guess we will find out soon enough.
As the Sun Times points out the gov signed an executive order in January 2003 setting up a state hiring freeze and then hiring needed to be approved by Blagojevich's office. So I suspect that is what they are now looking at hard.

It appears Sneed is a little confused

Is former House GOP leader Lee Daniels (R-Elmhurst), who is awaiting word on a possible indictment, preparing to retire from his congressional seat? Word is Daniels has not been circulating the requisite candidacy petitions that need to be filed in Springfield in December

Umm Mike, it's not a congressional seat. He is a state rep.
