Yet, prompted by a reporter's question, Beavers yelled not to forget that he's "the hog with the big nuts and I'm gonna tell you what it is."
Lets look at that again gang
Yet, prompted by a reporter's question, Beavers yelled not to forget that he's "the hog with the big nuts and I'm gonna tell you what it is."
I think "the hog with the big nuts" would make a great T-Shirt....
The first question that comes to mind is What was the question the reporter asked that prompted that response was it "So are you the pig with the small nuts?" or perhaps it was vaguely Barbra Walters-esk "Commissioner if you were any animal what would you be and what would your junk be like?"
The second question is perhaps it is my urban upbringing but what does the size of a hogs nuts have to do with anything?
My third question is what is "what it is" that he is going to tell us about? Is it the nuts? The hog?
Right now on Google if you search on Hog Big Nuts the first entry is Beavers info page on the Cook County site and number three is William Beavers Wikipedia Entry.
Hiram may give the Republicans on the DuPage board a hard time, but last time I checked, none of them speak of their porcine nuggets.

It is disruptive to practices in terms of training, costs as well as how medicine is practiced. If the implementation isn't done right it becomes a hindrance not a help. Any approach that pushes an EMR needs to recognize that some practices already have them, there is a shortage of professionals who can help practices implement them. Suffice to say this is going to end up being a big project. As a professional who has helped a medical practice select an EMR it could work out nicely for me.
Doctors are not great tech adaptors.

Since I couldn't really sit comfortably, the only place I could stand that was not really painful was leaning on part of the check-in desk. It was interesting to see the number of people who came in with issues that were not really ER issues. (Oneman went to the ER on the instructions of his insurance company BTW).
I think it would be an interesting number to see what pct of AllKids claims the state gets come from the ER.

In case you were wondering where OneMan has been the last few days. This is the trip milage from my trip to FL (this is from a car I rented in FL)...

FEMA would have been willing to pay more than $600,000 for the fish if they had been bought from commercial suppliers. But the agency is balking because the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas went out and replaced the dead fish the old fashioned way, with hooks and nets. That expedition saved the taxpayers a half-million dollars but did not comply with FEMA regulations.
If I were president (all feel free to shudder) I would try and create a new cabinet level post called Secretary of Stupidity who would have a staff of about 10 people I trusted, who would review stuff like this then send me a list of stupid stuff done due to government regulations or laws that I could executive order away on a case by case basis.

It's going to make Edwards calling her Bush Like seem like patty-cake.
The man who has created several presidents for the hit TV show "24″ says it's "nuts" to think of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton being the next real president.
This from Peggy Noonan in the WSJ at the end of a story that basically says Hillary couldn't carry Maggie Thatchers purse...
I wonder if Sen. Obama, as he makes his climb, understands the kind of quiet cheering he is beginning to garner from some Republicans, and from those not affiliated with either party. They see him as a Democrat who could cure the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton sickness.
I call it that because it seems to me now less like a dynastic tug of war than a symptom of deterioration, a lazy, unserious and faintly corrupt turn to be taken by the oldest and greatest democracy in the history of man. And I say sickness because on some level I think it is driven by a delusion: "We will be safe with these ruling families, whom we know so well." But we won't. They have no special magic. Dynasticism brings with it a sense of deterioration. It is dispiriting.
Go read the whole thing, well worth it. I am kind of surprised that it didn't get more blog play but then again...
Also I have to say Obama's use of either Ray Clay or the Ray Clay soundalike was entertaining.

If someone is wielding a dangerous weapon at law enforcement officers what are they supposed to do? Wait until she harms herself? See if she tired her self out first? Just tackle her and hope she doesn't nail them with the hammer?
I see limited options here.
Second city copy also has some more scoop about how this wasn't even the strongest response under state guidelines.

The Beacon Blog has some more on why Rudy says he is not running......
From the Press Release on the Beacon Blog
It seems that some candidates and party members ignore the many problems Americans face today. They fail to address the issues and fail to give their views on solutions. Instead, they seem to focus on the amounts in their political war chests so that they can buy support or name recognition through costly advertising campaigns. Candidates try to convince their party’s members that they are the best candidate merely because they claim to have the funds to win.Ummm, so you are not running because other candidates make the argument they have more money to spend on the race? Also every political organization of any size has a 'bad apple' or two, that is true of just about any organization of any size that does anything. Follow the link perhaps it will make more sense to you.
Unfortunately, actions taken, and not taken, by a few members of the party greatly affect the image of the whole party, its members and its candidates and also chart the course for the party’s future. The old saying, “One bad apple spoils the whole barrel,” holds true. In this case, there are a few bad apples and I certainly do not want to be in the same barrel with them.

Linda Holmes it appears did file, Rudy Clai does not appear to have filed. Will confirm this tomorrow hopefully.

Having Met Andre several times I can confirm that he is in fact not a zombie.. How do I know, well first off OneMan has a huge skull (and brain to match, spelling aside) and he has never even so much as taken a nibble at my skull.
You know it's easy sometimes to take shots at the Beacon, sometimes they make it easy. But you catch more files with honey than vinegar.

Begs a interesting question if OneMan could get 1,000 signatures could he run as a Democrat for the nomination? If someone did file and managed to stay on the ballot could they slate a primary candidate as well? I doubt it.
You get the form, grab some friends and go for a walk on Sunday (no Bears game) I think you could do it on Sunday then file early on Monday and be first on the ballot.

Was thinking about it a bit last night when I went for a drive. Since I grew up and lived in the same town and home until I left for college then moved away from the general area after college I really don't run into anyone I grew up with.
The nicest thing about the reunion, the chance to see some folks who I knew when I was 10 or 14 for that matter. Just sort of comforting to be able to talk to folks you used to play kickball with or high school football with. When all is said and done, that was the highlight.
