Why I don't have a problem with a GOP 'Star Chamber'

Rich had some stuff about a GOP 'Star Chamber' figuring out who to back for statewide races.

First some snark: Yes because the Democrats system in Illinois of "Who's kid wants to run for what?" is a more democratic approach.  As an added bonus we can include the "kids get to skip the primary" system that they have mastered here.
End of snark:

Well at this point, I don't have a problem with any group that is not tied to a position set that guarantees defeat trying to line up funding and support for a set of candidates.  If it is going to help elect Republicans then I am cool with it.  One of our many issues is that a set of the groups that have views that really don't help candidates get elected are getting behind candidates (which is their right) however groups that will support candidates that may have a better chance of getting elected kind of sit back and do nothing.
