Hey Andy you say you have a plan to fix the budget...

Well Andy McKenna,
What is your plan?

Well your web site has this...

Cut Government Waste: Andy McKenna is a successful businessman who will bring a common sense perspective to Springfield. As governor, Andy McKenna will use the veto pen actively to strike out wasteful spending and the pet projects of career politicians. The state has no business spending $140,000 to construct high-end porta-potties at seven state parks, $500,000 for expenses related to the Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration, and $262,000 for fishing programs with the Chicago Park District.

That's almost a million dollars, just over 5 billion to go...

But lets look at each of the items he mentions.

$140,000 to construct high-end porta-potties at seven state parks. If that is 140,000 for 7 'porta-potties', then that is $20,000 each. Also if they are being built they really are not 'porta-potties' and 20K each may be a bit much but state parks do need bathrooms..

$500,000 for expenses related to the Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration. Kind of a unique opportunity for tourism don't you think. It's not like we are going to have this expense in 10 years.

$262,000 for fishing programs with the Chicago Park District. Well this is an interesting one. The big question I would have is if this is coming out of general revenue or if it coming out of license fees. If this is what my fishing license money is being spent on (yes I have a Illinois fishing licnese) then I am cool with that. You are not proposing treating sportsman license fees as general revenue are you?

How about some real detail in the plan.
