Would The CTU go for this?

The LA teachers union approved a deal that shortens the school year and reduces pay in order to keep more teachers on the job.

Would the Chicago Teachers Union take a deal like this or would they have fewer teachers working a normal length school year? The school week in LA is down to 175 days now.
