Facebook Graph Search And Easy Political Micro-Targeting...

I am getting to test Facebook's new Graph search feature and have quickly realized it is a perfect targeting tool for local political races.

For example I can search

Friends of Friends who live in Oswego, IL and like education (fewer than 100)
People who live in Oswego, IL and like education (more than 100)

The filtering isn't that great yet (you cant do a greater than search on age), so you have to visibly inspect the results and I am not sure how you can export results...

But with a couple of clicks I have at least some of the folks who are on Facebook who self claim an interest in education (along with some bio information).  How powerful would that be in a school board election?

Just looking at the result of this search.

People who live in Oswego, IL and like education

I can identify people who

  • Teach in other school districts
  • Teach in the Oswego school district
  • Like specific education models
  • Even folks who like specific music
I can also see where people went to school, if they grew up in Oswego or just live there now...

The best part, no war room, no cloud, no experts, a single candidate can do this. Stuff that would have cost you a fortune to do even 6 months ago is now about 4 clicks away..

This is going to be huge...
